absolutely, it is called pure obsessive compulsive disorder--there is disagreement among experts as to whether there really is such a thing as pure obsessive thinking I have obsessions minus external compulsions and as far as I know no particular internal compulsions. It is somewhat academic as the treatment is the same--CBT and ERP plus SSRIs or possibly some of the TCAs if not responsive to the SSRI. fca
