I wish I had some good ideas but I don't. I have only experienced your symptoms once in my life, and that was for about a week following ECT, and was categorized as psychotic mania. I don't think that is what you have, but you know like I do there is so much overlap between all the conditions they try to neatly categorize.
Whatever it is, it sounds like hyperactivity of something. Glutamate? Dopamine? Norepinephrine? Other? Or hypoactivity of something. Gaba? Serotonin? Other? Or lack of something. Magnesium? Calcium? Other. Whatever the cause, zyprexa was blocking the end result of it at the higher dose.
I personally am all in favor of going without an antipsychotic if at all possible. Try higher doses of xanax or cousins? I think a lifetime on a benzo is by far better than a lifetime on an antipsychotic.
Some of it may taper off on its own given time. I find that with each zyprexa dose decrease I go through a solid 4 weeks of my body and brain adjusting to it. I'm now at 1.25mg, down from 5mg, and it has literally taken more months than I can remember to do it.
