yep. well he tends to go right by the book. he doesn't like to experiment, and i just come in with idea. i convinced him memantine was harmless, and brought in some articles showing it's use off-label. he looked in his books to see if it was okay, reluctantly agreed, but went with the dosing scheme found in the books.

ironically i do wonder if the recorded half-life of memantine is accurate, when it has been used to treat tardive dyskenesia and benefits were apparently lost 24 hours after discontinuation? the site i found this at is sketchy "patent storm" but i still wonder.

"Discontinuation of memantine resulted in obviously increased dyskinesia within 24 hours, to the point that the movements interfered with reading and musical activities, and caused the patient subjective distress."

i don't know, maybe its baloney, trying to be too *sure* of an "invention" on a "patent" website. i don't even get it. does this help or impede the acceptance of drugs being used to treat other things?

gah. i don't know.

thank you for responding! :)
