I have taken both too. Wellbutrin was taken in combination with another AD (Celexa) and it was helpful with motivation, which is a big part of my depression, I also have TRD for more than 20 years.

Cymbalta made me extremely lethargic, practically becoming bedridden at 60 mg and I had to stop it because I felt I was worsening on it.

But like all meds, what works for one will not work for another so like me, it's worth a try. I have tried most AD's over the years and have spent more time depressed than actually feeling good.

As far as my depression is concerned, the doctors have no idea what will ever help me, it is all just trial and error with lots of SE's and lost years trying to get better.

Good luck with whatever you try next. I'm currently on Nardil and Nortriptyline which seems to be helping me. I hope it is not the placebo effect though.
