lamictal/self harm

I started taking Lamictal, and after a week on 25 mg I had a breakdown at work. I started crying uncontrollably, beat my legs with my fists, and even starting biting the skin on my arms-drawing blood. I woke up the next day crying as well. Is this heard of?
