my experience with restoril has varied, but in general, i've found that it takes awhile for it to kick in. still, i would say that you should be asleep or sleepy within an hour, and if you're not at hour 3, this probably isn't the drug for you. i've taken 60mg too, along with lots of other sleeping meds, often with dr's permission. but overall, i wouldn't recommend it. my tolerance for benzos and sleeping pills remains really high, and it takes a whole lot to get me to sleep. good luck, cb
