habituating... well I think we've discussed benzodiazepine differences of addiction and habituation.
I don't know, its more than semantics to me -- for myself, addiction is the purposeless or nonmedical use of substances as a result of recreational or other reasons... its a sticky wicket because the other reasons can include an urge to control an actual psychiatric disorder.
But prescribed and not forged benzodiazepine prescriptions in my mind lead to habituation, not addiction.
That's just coming from an individual who is going through rough roads with some habituation, yet there is reason to keep some of it in place even when I don't feel the effects of the drug, they have secondary evidence based reasons.
Of course there are even more complicated situations where addiction and habituation can occur simultaneously when someone obtains more on the side or uses an agent AMA, or several other reasons I haven't thought of.To ponder.
