Ritalin Dosing -- Opening Metadate Capsules

I'm on regular Ritalin 5 mg daily (yes, the dose is small), but taking it all at once increases my heart rate and blood pressure. I'm thinking of getting 10 mg Metadate capsules, opening them up and taking long release beads of about 2.5 mg (I read that there are supposed to be 30% of the immediate-release beads and 70% delayed-release beads in each Metadate capsule). Thoughts?
