Hi Sub,
I hope Kengwen will answer you. Meanwhile could you describe Agomelatine more in depth ? I'd like to know how you would compare the general 'feeling' to other antidepressant you tried. Of special interest to me is the cognitive and motivation side. Serotonergic usually 'dumb' me too much for my taste.. like some brain fog. Also usually SSRIs kills your motivation. I ask you to compare to other ADs because to evaluate of Agomelatine differ from other ADs I need to know how you usually felt on other ADs.
If you can take 2 minutes to answers me I'll be very appreciative! ... finding people who tried Agomelatine is pretty hard as you would guess.
Thanks!
/\/\artyYes marty i empathize with you not being able to find many people who had the chance to experience agolmelatine. In response to your questions i will try and do my best.
1) I'd like to know how you would compare the general 'feeling' to other antidepressant you tried -
Agolmelatine was different in that it did not make me feel strange being on it. Like you know how you can kinda feel other antidepressents well agolmelatine was very suttle and very smooth. It was very helpful in helping me sleep and i was able to enjoy working a job again. Compared to other ssri's agolmelatine was a better all around antidepressent meaning that it wasent just good for depression it helped me in alot of other ways AD's could not. It realy just balanced me out. In all i would just say that compared to other ssri's i did not have the side effects and actualy did a much better job. Other antidepressents all had bad side effects that outweighed the benifits of the medication.
2) As for the cognitive and motivational side that is where agolmelatine realy shined for me it changed the way i was thinking and did not dwell on things that didn't matter to me anymore. I was more confident and for once was thinking from the heart more and not so much out of anger. I hope this has been helpfull for you - take care
