I have heard of people being cured from magnesium in a way similar to lithium. Some of them were amazing stories. It is a popular supplement at many forums more many diseases and conditions. I think it is very popular with naturopaths. But me, if I want to be down in the dark glum dumps real fast, all I have to do is take a little magnesium.

I know from ingredient labels and studying the foods I eat that I am getting all the magnesium I need from good food choices. Any extra for me is not good. I've tried many times and each time sucks.

The only time it has ever actually helped me was when I took a conservative epsom salts bath soak. That is, about 1 cup in the tub and soaking in it no longer than 10 minutes. Somehow magnesium absorbed straight through the skin acts differently for me than ingested magnesium. It provides a calmness and good sleep without dumping my mood lower than it already is. Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate and absorbs readily through the skin straight into ciruculation.
