Bulldog, are you in the US? Nurses cannot change doses of any medication, unless an APRN that can write scipts.

I agree with Maxime, you can let it go until Monday if necessary and take 2 pills (5mg) in place of 1 (10mg) pill and get straightened out next week when your doc is back.

Yes, health care has changed for the worse and not too many are there for the patients anymore, much more about concerned about themselves, a creation of the "me" generation. Get used to it as this is an outcome of parents raising their kids with the attitude they are number one, not others, as a field like nursing requires.

You'll get it straightened out, they just made a mistake and are too busy with themselves to pay attention to you. Go straight to the doc that wrote the order and tell him what happened. It should be easily corrected and no one would change a medication from 10 mg to 5 mg without discussing it with you first.
