You might be better off taking the SR version. The XL takes a long time to kick in and might be what is keeping you awake. I take generic SR, 200mg morning and 100mg at lunch. I also find the generic version easyer to handle, the side-effects like dizzyness are lesser. I also take zyprexa and perphenazine which make me tired, so that also helps. I did find brand sr version made me very jittery and hard to focus at school. Often they give the wellbutrin for people that get tired from other meds they are taking. People who take the wellbutrin with out something else have a hard time toleratin it.

Why do you take wellbutrin?
