Medicare Part D plans for SSDI/SSI

Posted by zonked on January 31, 2010, at 13:39:21

Hi all:

It's Medicare time for me in April--maybe it's just my perfectionism but I don't know what Part D plan to choose...

There are HMO plans that combine Medicare and Medicaid ("dual eligible") and drug-only plans.

I need a plan that doesn't whine so much and require prior auths or prohibitively expensive copays for new/brand drugs (for example, I want to try Vyvanse and/or Lyrica, for ADD and anxiety, respectively.)

Also, I don't know whether or not I want the combination HMO plan or a Part A + Part B + Part D deal... (When I had Kaiser, drug approval was never a problem.)

Any feedback would be appreciated - thx -
