Hello, It's too bad there aren't any responses yet, I would like to see them (if informative and accurate, lol). It's a pretty complex field. Here's a website where you can look up the # in your state for a free counselor to help you decide on the Medicare choices http://www.shipusa.org/Find_a_State_SHIP.html .

I just got Medicare in July, due to being on disability long enough. I picked the straight Medicare (not Advantage) and a Medigap plan F suppemental policy from a private company. (My mom generously pays for half of my premium on my gap policy). But, those don't deal with outpatient meds.
For part D, I searched at Medicare's website where you type in the meds you want, and it brings back a result showing possible Part D companies for you. It's still complicated, though, by the fact that they may "cover" some things, but with hassles that are hard to tell ahead of time how big they will be (such as prior authorization, quantity/dose limit, making you try something else first {such as Celexa before Lexapro}). I ended up picking SilverScript, and have found them okay for my situation so far. I had a hassle trying to use them the first day of its coverage; it wasn't approving me or something, but since the day after that it's been okay.
I think part of the reason there haven't been responses yet it because it is so complicated, and then when you mix in Medicaid, lots of the policies vary by state.
