I think the FDA-approved max is 20mgs/day

I googled it and it looks like the longer trials used for FDA approval only went up to 20mgs/day. Some psychiatrists, of course, have gone higher for "treatment resistant schizophrenia"--I saw one paper mentioning a group of patients given 60mgs/day.

I think you should be careful with neuroleptics, especially something like Zyprexa that can be mind-numbing and tends to have a withdrawal syndrome and also causes crazy metabolic problems (although metformin might counter those...as might amantadine).
