A close relationship with Jesus will without question keep your reliance on meds to a minimum. That said, I don't think there is anything wrong with meds. It's just that we tend to put them first, almost as if they were gods, and put God second or even not on the radar screen. It's not unusual that we give more thought and time to our med situation each day than we spend talking to God.
The 10 commandments were written not so much as rules to follow, but rather ways of life that minimize or eliminate pain, hurt, and suffering.
The first is, of course, love your God above anything else. When our meds take more of our attention than we give God, the road ahead gets darker. Not due to punishment, but due to us voluntarily saying God I don't want you, and He politely says ok and stands out of the way, at which time the evils of the world are free to swarm us. When God gets more attention than our meds, the meds work better because of something intangible beyond our comprehension.
Not meaning to give a sermon here, just wanted to give you my support and thumbs up..
