I do not think your problems are neurotransmitter issues. Because if they were, you would have experienced much better performance on meds that target them.
Unexplained fear is the body's way of being unable to deal with stress. Probably weak adrenals. If so, thyroid automatically downregulates itself to stay in sync with adrenals....and maybe thus the overweight problems from hypothyroid. Tests are useless...you can be firmly in the middle of the normal range and still by hypothyroid. Only a trial of T3 would say for sure. But without doing something for the adrenals, that would be problematic also.
Things to work with:
1. No more neurotransmitter trial stuff...it's been a dead end road and is likely to continue that way. It's something else.
2. Siberian Ginseng (eleuthero) and Astragulus combo.
3. Small amounts of maca root powder
4. Adrenal cortex extractAll of the above are slow acting...1 to 6 months.
Faster intervention:
1. Hydrocortisone 1mg-5mg per day.
2. T3Must try:
1. Doxycycline. This will rule in or rule out a bunch of stuff. No brainer staple:
1. LDN
