Jerry you endo may be right. I also have hasimotos thyroiditis most common form of low thyroid. Autoimmune type. A delicate balance is mantained through the endocrine system. I was rather lucky as my snythroid "kicked in at about day l0" and it had caused opposite of what you'd think anxiety upped so immediately was able to lower benzo. A low testosterone level can also be raised with addition of testerone. Both thyroid and hormones normally take about six weeks to reach a steadier state. Thyroid doseage can also be trial and error to reach the correct dose. Will you repeat levels in six weeks very important. As for the sleep study are you overweight? As that in itself could cause sleep aphnea. So in the end if the synthroid helps you might be able to give up or lower some meds that might have caused weight gain. And a sleep study could reveal sleep aphnea and CPAP machines are used frequently with good results restoring restful sleep and more energy. So hopefully this will be the case with you. Phillipa
