Well, I don't know if what I experienced was true "poop out." From what I've read, it seems that most people who experience antidepressant "poop out" respond to a medication for at least a year before the medication starts to lose its effectiveness. For me, enteric-coated Marplan and the U.K. Goldshield tranylcypromine brought about remission for about three days before losing their effectiveness. Nardil lasted longer for me -- about two weeks on the film-coated Australian version of the medication, about a month on the Australian version when I put the contents of my tablets into enteric capsules, and about two months on the Pfizer Nardil when I put the contents of the tablets into enteric capsules. I suspect that what caused Nardil to stop working for me was a bad batch. When I started taking the tablets from my suspected bad batch, I quickly noticed a loss of efficacy and the onset of extreme agitation. When Nardil worked for me, I actually felt less agitated than usual.
