> J, excellent advice as usual. Would you mind sharing how you dose your Nardil and b6? If you take Nardil in divided doses, it's next to impossible to take b6 12 hours apart from a dose. I've been taking a B+C stress complex every other night between dinner and bedtime. I wish I could take my entire 75mg in the morning, but this makes the nap problem much worse. Did you notice the fatigue getting better over time? Last thing, how much caffeine do you drink and what times of day? Thanks so much - Z

Hey z,
I really haven't paid that much attention on the dosage timing of B6, maybe I should. I just take the 100mg in the morning. I split my Nardil but take most of it after dinner. I believe the supplemental B6 along with the weight loss has helped my peripheral neuropathy. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1188621/?tool=pubmed) At one point I could not even feel the tuning fork when my GP put it on my ankles, now - no problem. I've also been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. At some point, I will probably get the operation to take the pressure off these nerves. But I believe that the B6 supplementation has helped with this also(http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1949298/?tool=pubmed). Ironically, too much B6 will cause peripheral neuropathy, so watch the dosage. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7878600)

My usual dosage of Nardil is now 60mg. I have become tolerant of most side effects at this dosage, including the afternoon tiredness. I recently increased my dosage to 75mg because of additional stress from (hopefully) short term financial difficulties. I do not want this additional life stressor to manifest into another major depression episode. However, with the 15mg increase in dose, I did notice some increased afternoon tiredness, increase in insomnia, and increased delay in ejaculation. Hope these symptoms will be short term. Anyway, I plan to return to 60mg as soon as possible.

I drink about three large cups of drip coffee in the morning. That's about 450mg of caffeine. This is my drug of choice after Nardil. If I stop coffee cold turkey, the next day I have a splitting headache - and I don't get headaches. I have not had the need for additional caffeine later in the day for many years. I do drink some diet cola on rare occasion, but a 12oz Diet Coke only has about 45mg of caffeine. There is a growing body of evidence on the health benefits of coffee.(http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20138903) I like it and don't plan to quit.
Be well z,
Jedi
