CPCYou could start by visiting your county human services department and get a list of organizations that would be helpful to you. If you are lucky, your state will have openings in their Section 8 rental assistence program. They pay for at least 2/3 of the rent. This way, you could live alone and develop the skills necessary to function independently.
You might also check out NAMI and DBSA for resources that you can take advantage of.
I think it would be easier and healthier for you to move out than to try to live with your mother and capitulate to her controlling behaviors. However, while you two are living under the same roof, you could use much of Dinah's advice to make things more tolerable.
