It's funny cause you can take 5 mg of lexapro but can't tolerate the Celexa... They are both the same drug... They just remove the part in the Celexa who counteract with the action on the serotonin... Some studies show no difference between both drugs... Only need higher dose of Celexa to have the same effect than the lexapro... But you are not alone to feel that way, the Celexa experience I had was horrible, not because of the anxiety from it but because I was tired all the time on it.... With the lexapro it was even worse, difficulty to sleep and tired all day long to the point that my Doc add 300 mg of Wellbutrin and 15 mg of Ritalin... Who was almost suicide for my anxiety cause both drugs are stimulating... Anyway for me the Celexa and lexapro are about the same... Same drug company make it, the lexapro was already developed when they launch the Celexa but they wanted to be sure that they will have a new drug to sell to replace the Celexa when it will lost his patenting... It's now a common pracrice for drugs company to do this... Effexor xr and the pristiq for example... Zopiclone and zolpidem.... Just to name a few...
