help with interpreting a Pubmed article

Posted by poser938 on June 15, 2014, at 20:59:10

So, ive been reading into the type of ECT ive been receiving, and it seems it isnt a well tested treatment yet. Its call "Ultra Brief Bilateral ECT". It is a newer version of ECT that i believe basically just uses less electricity in an attempt to decrease side effects while maintaining efficacy.

but, ive been reading articles ob Pubmed that describe it as less effective than "Brief Pulse Bilateral ECT".

Id just like for someone else to take a look at this article and see what they figure out about 'Ultra Brief Bilateral ECT".
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3513900/

does it seem like i should ask them to switch to the more tested form, Brief Pulse Bilateral? Its just that i havent noticed any benefits after 3 treatments now. and thankfully inly slight side effects. basically just a but if confusion after waking up from the ECT.

.... Im just growing so impatient and nervous. I need a sign that this ECT is going to benefit me.
