This is an article that reviews an array of clinical studies. It is the conclusion of the review that ultra-brief pulse ECT (both unilateral and bilateral) is less effective than brief pulse ECT.
I would discuss this with your doctors and come to an agreement as to if and when to cross over to brief pulse ECT.
