we here in nz do. or *parts*. they reckon areas that have it in their water treatment have less childhood cavities.

but who cares about their baby teeth? only gonna lose them anyway... eliminating sugar would probably help... but can't see us doing that anytime soon...

i switched to a mineral / herbal toothpaste for a time... i've heard that making a saline solution with salt can be used to (gently!) scrub them, too. or baking soda if you can stand the taste (whitening agent, too).

but i was having intermittent tooth pain... and i wasn't going to get to the dentist... so i started using sensodyne... apparently the flouride or whatever helps the protective coat on the tooth. that does ebb and flow a bit... naturally regenerate a bit and of course wear down... anyway... i've stopped having the tooth pain so i'm sticking to the sensodyne...

what helps your teeth.... isn't ingesting it (in the water supply). it is actually applying it to your teeth (brushing them very gently with it on a soft toothbrush for a good few minutes).

i heard something about flouride making people lethargic. something about soldiers being given it and that not working out so well. s omething about ppoulation control. but i don't know. could be conspiracy theory crap. dunno.
