I live in London so not sure my gp would agree to refer me to someone in Bristol.
I actually spoke to David Nutt at a public talk he gave 2 years ago. At that time, he said he was not taking nhs patients. I also contacted the psychotropical website and had quite a few conversations with Ken Gillman. He also contacted David Nutt for me. And Nutt gave the name of a private psychiatrist in London who I went to see. However, I dont have insurance and these guys charge the earth.
Im curious about Marplan. I was on Nardil for 20 years before it stopped working. It took me months to convince my local nhs psychiatrist that only maois work for me. They put me on quetiapine which just made me feel worse. Ive now been on Parnate for 2 years and try to keep the dose down to 3 tablets as it gives me insomnia. It works ok, without the high I got from Nardil - but the insomnia is a problem. I take temazepam every 3 nights or so, in order to avoid getting addicted to it. But its not a perfect situation. Thanks for your feedback. I will speak to my gp.
