In reply to Stimulants (Ritalin) against TRD?, posted by topdog on October 13, 2015, at 12:52:51
I took ritalin, concerts and adder all each for a few months. Initially, they got me out of bed and moving and my depression had made me pretty much catatonic. But my mood didn't really lift. And after a week or two, the energy boost didn't really occur either. I would feel enervated and tired. So stimulants didn't work for depression for me.

How would you compare taking a MAOI like Nardil or being on a stimulant like Ritalin? Do the stimulants always crash in the evenings leaving you feeling anxious and drained?

> For over a month now the emotional pain of depression and anxiety has been high above the critical level of human tolerance so i'm going back on Nardil immediately to avoid self-destruction. My second option would be to try a stimulant (which i'v never tried before) if my doctor is willing to prescribe it in the first place of course.

> Just for the information, Brintellix didn't work for me, tried it for 6 weeks after stopping nardil.
