the brand wellbutrin xl was pulled a couple years ago, because of quality control issues. -ugh-
tenuate? i did a search on The Google, and apparently it is used 'off label' by psychiatrists for mood elevation, now and then. Schedule IV, generic available, refills are possible if the treating doctor is OK with it, etc. some insurance plans won't pay for diet pills, but it does seem to be rather inexpensive, out of pocket.
just brought it up because...the internet also tells me it is closely related to wellbutrin, but it would probably be fast acting and I don't think there's much of a seizure risk (?).
for whatever reason, bariatric physicians do not seem particularly fond of it, compared to phentermine. and now we know. lol. :-)
but seriously, there -are- options out there, assuming the physician in charge of your treatment is willing to try other psych drugs that could help ameliorate your depression. provigil, focalin, maybe some of the more stimulating tca (not if there is an OD risk, of course...), on and on and on....
just seems like a rough thing, looking into compoudning pharmacies and lab testing, etc., over a drug in depression that basically elevates mood...
thru mild stimulation.
hope this helps. good luck! :-)
