Yeah, I would feel safer on Metformin than Rybelsus. With metformin you need to check kidney function every once in a while so you don't get metabolic acidosis. It is rare but serious, if it happens. Then it lowers Testosterone a bit which is not so good if your levels were low to begin with. In that case it might make them so low that you are going to have mood issues because of low T.
It is not a perfect medication by any means. But it is better than many others.
