> Well, as add-ons, I am investigating vitamin B6 for general anxiety/agoraphobia and panic. SRI's are way too strong for me. Plus, I have found some possible help with magnesium and calcium combination. (Magnesium WITHOUT calcium actually depresses me.)
I found that a single mega-dose of calcium exacerbated my depressive state within 30 minutes of taking it. In the most primative of conceptualizations, Mg+ and Ca2+ are opposites. Calcium entry into the presynaptic neuron is the trigger for the release of neurotransmitters from the synaptic vesicles. However, magnesium suppresses the release of neurotransmitters, as well as antagonizes excitatory NMDA glutamate receptors. Here, I think we are talking about glutamate primarily.
Again, primative:High glutamate activity = mania and schizophrenia
Low glutamate activity = depression.
How curious are our differences.
