No need to say sorry.
Sometimes (unfortunately) things need to be bent a bit in order to get results. I've thought about that angle, but I think my doctor would chalk it up to ADHD.
Interestingly physical restlessness (during the day and night) is a core symptom of mine. Venlafaxine and SSRIs make it worse. TCAs are neutral. Really, only methylphenidate improves this (and my sleep in general).
I wanted to consolidate my meds in the summer (as I was taking 4) but in the process I switched off ritalin + effexor and on to wellbutrin.
Wellbutrin does help some aspects of ADHD but it also leaves me feeling cognitively foggy (something ritalin does not do). Also, in my reading, wellbutrin really isn't dopaminergic! I think this is a bit of a misconception. You probably get the same dopamine transporter occupancy on 5mg of ritalin than you would on 450mg of wellbutrin. So who knows what its mechanism is, but it's questionable that dopamine has anything to do with it.
The core problems I am having right now are:
- feeling numb all day
- nightmares at night
- some anxiety (in the form of fast heartbeat, or just an overall preoccupation with my heart)
- unable to start anything, but it all just feels purposelessLinkadge
