What exactly are you trying to say, Hen? One could reasonably assume that you're referring to some participant on this thread as the "carroteer". I guess I'm not quite getting your metaphor, so could you just speak plainly, please? Is someone supposed to be doing something to Happyflower or someone else in an attempt to cause her to behave in some predetermined way? I suppose if that's what you're saying, then I have to have a private, hearty chuckle. If not, it'll be a public "humminah?" Though either way, given my understanding of the carrot and stick metaphor, I suspect it's possible that if labeled as a "carroteer", despite my hearty laughter, I could feel accused of perhaps being manipulative or something similar.
Gosh, Henny Penny, whatever could you be trying to convey?
