Hi:
I'd like to try Fish Oil. I have Bipolar NOS/social anxiety/adult ADHD. I've taken every med known to man since '97 and I'm sick of the roller-coaster. My cousin, who has a much more severe form of bipolar than I, just told me today that she has never felt as stable and functional as she does from Omega 3. She takes Solgar MaxEPA; every TWO softgels contain 600mg Total Omega 3, comprised of 360mg EPA & 240mg DHA. She takes 10 softgels daily, so that's 3g total Omega-3 (1800mg EPA + 1200mg DHA). I happen to already own a bottle of that same brand that I bought a year ago but never ended up using. However, I also just found 2 other brands on the web that sound like they might be better, especially if it is true that the more EPA the better: 1) Omegabrite (formulated by Dr. Andrew Stoll who did the Harvard study): Each 500mg cap has 375mg EPA and 40mg DHA. 2) TwinLab Mega Twin EPA Fish Oil: Each Softgel contains 600mg EPA and 240mg DHA.
Does anyone have advice on which brand would be best to take and what dose?
thanks,
Peter
