My spouse does extremely well with a diet heavy on proteins and extremely light on carbs. Tons of calories can be consumed, even limited sugars, chocolate, and ice cream, as long as the vast majority of what is ingested has super low carbs. Spouse eats huge portions of protein stuff, very few carbs, and loses weight easily, even though the total calorie intake is very high. Somehow if the calories are from proteins and not carbs, things are fine.
With me it don't matter. I am too skinny. I eat all the carbs I can and it does nothing. I eat too many proteins and I lose weight I can't afford to lose.
Spouse meal examples:
Breakfast:
2-3 eggs scrambled with butter or bacon grease, mixed with bacon, sausage, or ham. Low carb protein bar. No cereals, no breads, no pastries, no pancakes.Lunch: Beanless canned chili mixed with 2-3 hotdogs covered with cheese.
Or taco meat covered with cheese with lettuce and a limited amount of corn chips.Dinner: Meat and salad, but no breads, potatoes, or rice.
Basically...meats, low sugar veggies, and cheeses, all you can eat. Stuff yourself, no worries.
Dessert is almost always a modest bowl of ice cream.
Weight comes off fast, maybe 2-3 pounds a week.
