Didn't read through all the prior postings in this thread but there was an instance reported where a person taking benzos took kava kava and went into a coma. Don't know all the details - age, other drugs may have been taking, level of benzos, etc. I would urge extreme caution. Why not just withdraw from the benzos very slowly. I have had success with this in the past, i.e. withdrawing slowly not combining with kava kava
