My overall experience with lipoic acid is both good and bad, mainly bad. Initially, it started to help with my negative symptoms somewhat, but after chronically dosing on it for two weeks, I noticed that I was becoming easily fatigued. I thought perhaps taking no more than 50mg per day would remedy this. And it may. 100mg per day is way too much of this supplement, in my personal opinion. It can build up in your system and eventually leave you feeling fatigued. That is really bad for someone who is bipolar or schizophrenic and already has problems with low energy. So I'd advise anyone to use this supplement with caution and stay on the low side.
