NAC makes me better for 2 days then worse depression wise. Alpha lipoic acid made me psychotic to some degree. ALA makes me almost psychotic

After 6 months, I switched over to a more standard Orthomolecular protocol, and its been OK.

I think...my tolerance for C is now a lot lower, so maybe all this detoxing and such did something? The vitamin C people say that when one's tolerance for daily C goes down, it means you've been made healthier. something like that, anyway.

> I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but...usually, its like this: for standard Orthomolecular, you need high potency b-complex. b-50 2, 3 x daily...or, if you're me, 2 b-100 tablets in the AM (they're time release). You also need the C, natural form E or dry E (I go for natural form), a good multi, D3, some form EPA+DHA (Hoffer was all about salmon oil, if I recall correctly...), and then...

>
> now...additional add ons that are more in line w/ the Orthomolecular philosophy and that have helped me would include the various minerals nobody seems to get enough of in the diet. selenium, zinc, etc. multi-mineral supplements can come in handy, and there are also trace mineral supplements available.

Now, my new psych person is choosing to call my problems "Bipolar I," and she's even saying we can see about a slow and steady taper off the tranquilizer, provided I stay on Lamictal. Before...I was a hot mess, as in...state hospital level hot mess.
