I’m also bipolar II and was put on topamax. I became anorexic shortly after going on it. I’m in my 40s and this is my first experience with anorexia. I have been taken off of the topomax, but the anorexia hasn’t gone away. It was easy to lose weight while on the Topamax since it destroyed my appetite. I’m now on paxil which requires a lot more will power to loose weight. Perhaps that is why my pdoc changed my medication. I know that I shouldn't be losing weight but it is really difficult to get over the compulsion. If you are on the verge of become anorexic again, I think you need to consider how hard it was to recover from the anorexia before and whether or not you want to go through that again.
