I recently fasted for 3 days, and I've done it quite a few times in the past. Other times, I'll fast 1 day during the week. I always juice fast rather than water fast. I think the goal of fasting is to give your digestive system a break, and juice fasting does that while allowing the faster their nourishment. The extra energy your body has allows the body to heal better. According to a lot of holistic health beliefs, whenever you get ill or injured, you should stop eating. That's the opposite of what most of us do.
It used to be difficult for me to fast for 3 days. I would detox and get flu symptoms, and I'd be very weak, but after a while it got easier. I'm sure that eating a very pure diet helps too. I eat mostly whole, unprocessed fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
Now I get really hyper on a fast. My mind races, and I feel extrordinarily energetic. I'm a little calmer by the 3rd day. Also, my skin is absolutely amazing during a fast. I get LOTS of compliments during that time. My skin is aglow and radiant.
I feel much more reflective during a fast which is fine so long as I stay positive.Just wondering if any others of you have ever fasted or thought about it.
