Hmm. What about yoga or pilates? I don't think they are really cardio but they are low impact. Cycling is low impact and cardio.
I am assuming here that the trouble with your back is the result of high impact exercise. Jumping and running and so forth. If it is not then my misunderstanding - sorry.
