Stress related pain?

Posted by partlycloudy on January 10, 2005, at 9:09:31

For years now, when I am over stressed, I get a severe pain in my left hip. Nothing seems to soothe the pain and it only clears up when I have addressed what is causing me stress. I can't turn over in bed; I have trouble getting in and out of my car; it is not affected by exercise (exacerbated nor relieved by it).

What is this all about? Why do OTC pain relievers fail to even come close to this pain? I have never brought it up to any doctor since I've always recognized it to be something transitory. But it hurts so much and debilitates me while it's happening.
