Well, there's an American lab (Allerca) offering an inbred line of similar cats for $4,000 a kitten. Remember, hypo-allergenic means "less allergenic". Guaranteeing non-allergenic is much more stringent. Yes, I'd say hypo-allergenic cats (Siberian and Abyssinian) exist already, and it makes simple sense that controlled breeding and genetic testing would produce a cat without the supposedly allergy-triggering gene (Fel D1).

If you're considering such a cat, and you're allergic to cats, I'd visit a breeder's establishment and take a good deep breath, before I opened my wallet. Ya know?
