Rod, if you are contemplating dealing with clincially depressed people in your practice as a life coach, it may help you to undestand the difference between moments of self-doubt and clinical depression. There are lots of web sites and books about clinical depression that you may want to peruse. It's not just a moment, I believe it has to last for 2 wks or more and it also affects the person physically. For example, you can't eat or you eat too much, sleeping patterens are affected, crying for no reason, thoughts of suicide or death in general, etc. I won't repeat it all, you can find it if you do some research. Look under "clinical depression" not just depression.

I have been clinically depressed and it is not a "moment" as you describe.
