I'm very sorry this has become a problem for you. Substituting food for alcohol and drugs is, unfortunately, not that uncommon. Have you considered trying an overeaters anonymous group? I know they have a pretty good track record of helping people learn to stop binge eating. I know quite a few women who have gotten control of terrible binge eating problems, lost weight and been able to maintain a healthy weight.
Good luck to you.
> hi. i have overcome a few addictions to substances and to relationships. cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana and an abusive relationship which very much was addictive. i did all this partly on my own, partly through therapy and some help from support groups.
