Some time ago, I've read an article about people self-medicating themselves with speed/meth for ADD/ADHD and dysthymia (chronic minor depression characterised by anhedonia, lack of motivation and energy, no pleasure in any activities, but there are no suicical thoughts and no "I'm-feeling-so-bad-I-can't-even-move-my-leg-from-the-couch" after waking up) and medicines like Adderall/Dexedrine could help people with ADD/dysthymia greatly, mainly because they are amphetamines, and amphetamines had been shown to work for ADD/dysthymia.
If you're addicted to meth/or if meth is giving you relief (you've mentioned that meth makes you calm=definite symptom of ADD - definitely try to convince your pdoc (by "convince" I mean take an ADD test) to write you a script for Adderall. Adderall and Dexedrine are both amphetamine medicines. Do a test on ADD, and I think that you might get most ADD symptoms. Take care.
