Is There A Doctor In The House?

Posted by T_R_D on January 7, 2004, at 13:03:19

Hi All, another post.

A few years ago I was admitted to the ER for a rather nasty suicide attempt. I basically swallowed my entire medicine cabinet--a mix of prescription ADs and benzos, plus some OTC pain killers. When the paramedics arrived I was still conscious but barely...within seconds of their arrival I passed out.

When I awoke I was still in the ER, on oxygen, a heart monitor and with a catheter. I have a fairly good idea why but I'm looking to confirm my suspicions. Also, I'm curious what they did to me to counteract the effects of the drugs. I've done activated charcoal when I was awake but when unconscious how would they have treated me?

Thanks for your insight.
