(((B2chica)))

I am glad to hear that you are ok after what happened on Saturday.

Although I have no experience with an out-patient program, or an in-patient program either, an intensive out-patient program sounds like something that could be of benefit to you at this time in your recovery. I think every little bit helps, and having the opportunity to participate in such a program could be an excellent adjunct to the therapy you are already doing. As for work, I certainly can't tell you what to do, but the stress of dealing with your own issues, coupled with going to work and having to be "on" and perform there, in spite of your struggles, could be hindering rather than helping you at this time. When I got sober nine years ago, I took a couple of months off work, and it was the best thing I had done for myself in a long, long time. I put my needs ahead of the needs of others for the first (and probably only) time in my life. So, you might want to discuss the option of a leave of absence, even if it is just for a month or two, with your boss. That way you can focus on you. You have mentioned that you have issues with women, so I worry that you would be willing to go into a women's only out-patient program at the outset. Perhaps as you get a bit stronger, you can "graduate" to a women's program, but maybe being in a mixed program would be most useful to start with. That being said, that decision is one that you and your T need to make. Finally, you are worried about your school project. Can you speak to the prof or the school's adminstration to see if you can get an extension because of health reasons? It might take some of the pressure off and, again, allow you to focus on you and the therapy you will be pursuing.

I wish you only the best, B2chica. I hope everything starts to work out. My thoughts are with you.

Tamara
