Hi and Happy New Year to everyone!
Anyone have success with Antabuse?
I'm 37 days sober with it and it's such a relief. I have an agreement with a family member that I will take it every day in front of him so I cannot "forget" accidentally on purpose. I have no cravings and now I don't torture myself a thousand times a day with thoughts of drinking- how to get away with it, how much I can get away with, etc. I wake up in the morning and know I cannot get away with it at ALL. The decision is out of my hands.
This is after nearly 3 years of hellish addiction. Money problems, family problems, school problems, health problems, legal problems. I thought I was truly doomed. I know right now I'm on a "pink cloud" and my stuggles aren't over but Antabuse is helping so much! I have hope again.
Any stories out there? I know this medicine isn't often used but I'd love to hear of any other experiences with it- positive or negative.
Thanks so much.
