Has anyone tried this stuff? I've been taking it around 2 weeks and I have labs I can't put off any longer so I'll find soon enough if it's doing anything. Two weeks probably isn't long enough to tell what this stuff can do though.
I only paid around $10 for 120 10 mg tabs which is 2 months worth and I saw it even cheaper at WalMart the other day.
Thanks
Rick

Hi Larry,
> The study was of 24 weeks duration. I suspect you wouldn't show much response yet. Fish oil does similar, by the way.
Do you mean similar by numbers or the mechanism it works? I hope you meant numbers, I've been taking fish oil for quite a while, maybe 5 years on and off, on probably 70% of that time. My triglycerides were 470+ a few months ago, they were normal a year before that. Haven't heard anything back about this last test.
I've been taking plant sterols/stenols, niacin, extra fiber, more soy etc and just added policosanol. Oh, and trying to eat less crap too. Hopefully together it will make a difference, I don't want to take statin drugs but if this doesn't work I guess I might have to.
Thanks,
Rick

If you want to drop your triglycerides there is no better way to do it than with a low-carb diet.
I've been eating low-carb for five years now. Prior to starting low-carb my triglycerides averaged around 160 - 180. Now they are routinely between 55 - 65.
If you research low-carb diets you will see that greatly reduced triglycerides are the norm.

Thanks for the tip, I see the pdoc wednesday so maybe he'll have the test results.
This is the end of the thread.
