A couple of years a go I was on Trazadone. It is an AD that isn't used as a primary AD because it is a better sleeping pill. It came onto the market about the same time Prozac did. I'm pretty sure it is an SSRI. It is compatible with lots of ADs. I took it to help me sleep while depressed and also to get some extra help while waiting for the Prozac to kick in (which never happened).I don't know why your Dr. suggests trazadone but I thought the stuff was great. It keeps you asleep the whole night instead of just getting you to sleep and taking off like Ambien. I'm not sure if it helped my depression. I was only on it for a few weeks. Maybe a month.
